Jermaine is a beautiful large male Shepherd estimated around 2 years of age. Jermaine came to us as a stray so we unfortunately do not know his history prior to arriving at the shelter. Jermaine is a big bundle of love and goofy personality. He is a very typical Shepherd that bonds quickly and closely to 'his people' and values himself as a protector. This is a personality trait that has to be kept in check as he can be very intense at times and will easily take over a household if left without clear boundaries. Jermaine does great when properly introduced to new people and is happy to make friends. He loves to get scratches and will gladly take up the duty of warming your toes once you're friends. Jermaine has spent some time with children over 6 and done wonderfully with them overall. Jermaine does great with the other Shepherds and Shepherd mixes in his foster home. He is a big boy and doesn't always know how to play gently with dogs smaller than him but overall does well navigating play groups. He is generally quiet and appropriate meeting new dogs and responds well to boundaries the other dogs set during introductions. He is still learning and is very much a teenage boy but is doing great. Jermaine is NOT cat friendly and would not be recommended for a home with small dogs. At this time the smallest dog he has been around was around 35 - 40 lbs and he did well. Jermaine is a smart, goofy, and playful Shepherd that is looking for a home that will give him a job, guidance, and love as he figures out how to be the best companion he can be.
