Ellie is a striking young female Shepherd believed to be around 1.5 years of age and was found roaming. Unfortunately Ellie was apparently dumped by her family as when contacted they did not want her back. Despite her past Ellie is a loyal and loving young Shepherd who is looking forward to a forever home.

Ellie can be a friendly, social, and playful girl when properly introduced to new people. Ellie seems to have some socialization to catch up on and is still getting her confidence in new environments. Ellie is an energetic young Shepherd with lots of energy to spare and a need for guidance and structure. Ellie is extremely smart and eager to please always looking to her people for approval and praise. Ellie is a very athletic girl and can easily jump a 6 ft fence which she demonstrated when she was first at the shelter. Ellie must be supervised in the yard or leash walked to ensure she isn't venturing out unattended. Ellie has not been around any children at this time and due to her energy level we would not recommend her for a home with children under 7 or children that are not comfortable with large, rambunctious dogs.

Ellie has learned to get along with the other Shepherds and Shepherd mixes in her foster home but can be a very pushy, dominate girl at times. Ellie does enjoy playing with certain other dogs and will gladly jump the play yard fences to best suit her whims. Ellie can be pushy meeting new dogs though and requires a slow, structured introduction. Ellie has a very high prey drive and is NOT friendly with cats or dogs under 35 lbs .
