Scarlett is an adorable young female believed to be around 2- 3 years of age. Scarlett was picked up by animal control after her owners moved and left her in the back yard. She is now on track to gaining weight, learning about being a family member, and finding a home of her own. Scarlett clearly hasn’t had lots of love in her life so she can be a bit hand shy when meeting new people. She enjoys walking though and is quickly your best friend if treats or toys are involved. She doesn’t have many of the finer manners and will try to jump to take her toy from you given the chance. She has a few of the typical quirks of a backyard dog including circling when the energy gets high. Once Scarlett has warmed up she is a very sweet, friendly, and kind girl. As Scarlett comes out of her shell her energy level is going up and she is showing herself to be a very athletic and energetic girl. She would make a great hiking or running companion given some conditioning. Scarlett does well with the other dogs in her foster home and is learning how to navigate play groups with good social manners. She can be a bit unsure when meeting larger dogs like she isn’t sure if they are going to be kind but settles down quickly. She is definitely playing catch up with regards to her socialization and will benefit greatly from continued structured play groups and socialization. Scarlett is a sweet girl with lots of love and potential. She is seeking a home that will give her guidance as she learns the ins and outs of family life.
