Lance is a beautiful, and derpy, male Shepherd estimated around 3 years of age. Lance was found as a stray in Eastern Kentucky hairless, skinny, and generally worn down - the two older photos are after regaining his hair. Despite having been let down by people in the past Lance is a kind soul who looks forward to having his own family. Lance is a social and joyful boy who values himself as a loyal protector of his family. He is a very typical 'shadow Shepherd' who is always following close on your heels wherever you may go. Lance is a sensitive and responsive guy who is eager to please his people and quick to learn. Lance makes new friends easily but is still a Shepherd and will let you know when a stranger comes to the house or yard. Given a proper introduction Lance will happily take love from anyone and is very fond of pet store cashiers with their seemingly endless supply. However Lance is a German Shepherd and without guidance or boundaries he views strangers as foe and isn't as quick to make friends. Lance is generally well mannered, although he doesn't have any formal training, and is a great house dog. Lance is fostered with an 8 year old kid who enjoys having him as a partner in crime and given proper introductions and supervision he is a wonderful family dog with kiddos. Lance gets along well with other Shepherds in his foster home but ultimately doesn't care what they are doing. He tends to stay by the people and only occasionally plays with the other dogs. He is learning thanks to the help of some persistent puppies and is very tolerant of their efforts. Lance currently lives with two cats that he gets along with just fine. Lance is searching for a home that will return the love he eagerly gives and provide him the guidance he needs to continue being the awesome, trusting, and kind dog that he is.
