Molly is a beautiful young long-haired Shepherd just shy of 2 years of age. Molly was a frequent flyer at the shelter and unfortunately this time her owners never showed up to reclaim her. We do not know anything about her history other than having been picked up as a stray twice.
Molly has a friendly and social personality with lots of energy to accompany it. We are still getting to know her however she seems quick to make friends and enjoyed spending an evening at a park event getting lots of love. She is a very rambunctious girl with some less than lovely habits such as jumping and chasing peoples feet. She loves to play and is quick to start roughhousing if the energy starts rising. She doesn't seem to have an formal obedience but was generally well mannered on her leash at the park and seemed comfortable being in a public space. Molly has not yet met any children but did see many from a distance at the park and was quiet and calm even while they played. Given her high energy and lack of training we wouldn't recommend her for a home with children under 5 years of age but we are hopeful that she would do well with older children.
Molly gets very vocal when she sees new dogs in public but quiets down when meeting dogs. She had no issue meeting the resident dogs in her foster home and was appropriate in all aspects during introductions. She doesn't yet have play time figured out but is determined to get the hang of it soon. She has NOT been introduced to any dogs under 40 lbs or cats at this time.
Molly seems like a typical young Shepherd with energy to spare and opinions to share. She is searching for a home that will give her the mental and physical stimulation a young Shepherd requires along with love, guidance, and adventures.
