Zephyr is a beautiful Shepherd mix estimated around a year of age. Zephyr was a stray in the Louisville metro area therefore we do not know his history prior to arriving at the shelter. Zephyr has gone on a trial adoption and been returned through no fault of his own as the adopter simply realized that they didn't have enough time to dedicate to a dog right now. We are told Zephyr adjusted to the home quickly and was a gentleman the whole time. Zephyr is a typical young puppy who is happy to bounce along meeting new people and making new friends. Zephyr is a social and friendly guy who eagerly greets all who cross his path regardless of their intentions to greet him. Zephyr loves to romp and play with his foster family and like a typical young Shepherd he plays with his feet and his mouth. He is a very mouthy guy and enjoys playing tug with his leash and will mouthy your arm if you're roughhousing. Zephyr has been around kiddos on trips to the park but given his overexcited and mouthy nature we would not recommend Zephyr for a home with children under 5 or children who are not used to large, excitable dogs. Zephyr loves taking trips to the park but doesn't love getting in the car. He has to be carried into the car but settles down once inside and rides well. He doesn't have any formal leash manners but is a generally well behaved boy in public. Zephyr really enjoys being the center of attention and things that park parties are the best thing since sliced bread. Zephyr loves other dogs and is quick to make new friends. He is a hoot in the play yard as he enjoys jumping, running, and romping with anyone who will play with him. Zephyr seems to have a good handle of social cues and is able to adjust to a variety of dog personalities. While he is not necessarily submissive he isn't dominant and tends to go with the flow. Zephyr has been around a cat and so far been uninterested therefore we believe that with proper introductions he should be fine living with cats. Zephyr is an active and adventurous young guy who is fire and flow arts savvy. He is searching for a fun and active home that can feed his sense of adventure while also providing him the training, socialization, and love every young Shepherd needs.
