Sniper is a handsome young Shepherd estimated around 1.5 - 2 years of age. We do not know Snipers history prior to landing in the shelter and being transferred to us. Sniper has a big goofy personality and often behaves like an oversized pup. He likes to cuddle, has a bad habit of jumping, and is always nearby ready for adventure. He is very true to his age development though and can also be incredibly insecure when meeting new people or in new situations. He will require ongoing socialization and training to help him overcome this and ensure that he is able to show the world his fun, goofy self. Sniper has done wonderful with the few kiddos he has met however they have been 6+ years of age therefore we cannot say how he would do with younger children. Overall, Sniper is a energetic and active guy who is always looking for the next fun thing to do. He has no concept of manners but is eager to please and happy to learn. Sniper has been with other German Shepherds and done very well. He is a bit of a rude playmate in the yard not understanding his size and the other dogs boundaries but he is a quick learner. He is quick to play and is always trying to get new dogs to play - which has gotten him in trouble with the grumpier ones. Sniper has not been around any dogs under 40 lbs and did NOT test well with cats. At this time we would not recommend Sniper for a home with small dogs or cats. Sniper is looking for an active home that will feed his sense of adventure while also working to provide the socialization and training a young Shepherd like him needs.
