Blitzer is a stunning big guy believed to be around 5 years of age. Blitzer was found as a stray at a park where he allowed a good Samaritan and their daughter to catch him after evading others. We do not know his history prior to that point.
Blitzer can be a bit timid when first meeting new people but warms up well and is a very kind boy. He has a loving personality and enjoys getting scratches and being right with the people. Blitzer has been around a dog savvy 7 year old in his foster home that he thinks hung the moon. Due to his size we wouldn't recommend Blitzer for a home with children under 5 or children that are not accustomed to respecting a large dogs space.
Blitzer is around other Shepherds in his foster home and while he was unsure how to interact with other dogs at first he is learning how to play and developing more appropriate behaviors. He can still be a bit inappropriate at times and does best with other well socialized dogs that can respond appropriately. Blitzer did not test well with cats and would not be recommended for a home with small dogs or cats.
Blitzer is searching for a home that will help gain confidence and trust in new situations and value him as the wonderful companion that he is.
