Rex is an adorable Shepherd mix estimated around 5 years of age. Rex was surrendered to the shelter by an individual who had found him on the streets of Chicago as a puppy. Unfortunately, they became homeless and had to make the difficult choice to re-home Rex.
Rex is a funny and sweet boy who just has his own unique personality. His favorite 'bad habit' is tugging on his leash to get attention and although Rex can be reserved at first he is a friendly guy. Rex enjoys taking his humans for walks and would make a wonderful hiking companion. He has a very playful and fun loving personality that comes out once he gets to know you. Rex has been around children 7 years of age and up and done very well. He enjoys cuddling and has found that the kiddos are easily swayed. At this time we would not recommend Rex for a home with children under 6 years of age or children that are not accustomed to respecting a new dogs space.
Rex has done great with other dogs and is a fairly social boy. He hasn't yet figured out actually playing but he does a good job blending in to new play groups. He meets new dogs calmly and is an overall good boy. Rex has not been tested with cats or small dogs at this time.
Rex is searching for a home that will appreciate his fun personality and give him guidance in settling into his new life to ensure he is the best he can be.
