Buck is a beautiful male Shepherd estimated around 3.5 years of age. Buck was surrendered to a shelter due to issues between his family and a neighbor. Buck had been living with children and a small dog at the time of surrender but we do not know more than that. Buck is an absolute sweetheart with everyone he meets! He is simply sweet, friendly, and social with all of the volunteers, vet staff, and foster families he has meet thus far and the shelter staff loved him. He has been around a 6 year old while in our care and we are told he lived with younger children. He is a big dog though and does run the risk of knocking a kiddo over. Buck does great with other dogs and currently lives with a 15 lb beagle who bosses him around. He does well meeting other dogs and navigates play groups wonderfully. He is NOT considered cat friendly as he did want to chase the cat when tested. Buck tested LIGHT heartworm positive and has already been started on the slow kill treatment method. We are happy to discuss this with potential adopters however essentially Buck just needs to continue monthly preventative the same as any other dog.
