Riley is a goofy and gorgeous male German Shepherd that is around 5 years of age. Riley enjoys giving hugs to those he loves and is an affectionate boy overall. True to his bread Riley is also very loyal and protective of "his people". When Riley first arrived at Tier Haven he was skittish with new people, didn't trust easily, and was a resource guarder. Riley has made leaps and bounds in overcoming his based and recently enjoyed a trip to the vet clinic where he loved on each of the techs and was a social boy. While Riley in no way resembles the dog he was - both physically & mentally - we want to ensure that he goes to a home that is going to provide continued guidance for him to ensure that he stays on the track of moving forward. Riley has stolen the hearts of many volunteers with his sweet personality and love of cuddling. Riley is around other German Shepherds & Shepherd mixes in his foster home without issue. He is well behaved when seeing dogs out in public although he will occasionally "talk" about it which is a common Shepherd trait. At this time Riley has not been introduced to small dogs or cats however he can be tested upon request. Overall, Riley is an amazing dog that is doing his best to overcome the hurdles in his life. With love, patience, and guidance Riley has transformed into an amazing dog who is ready for a family that will continue to show him that his hard work is paying off. Riley is a 4 year old German Shepherd male that is loyal and protective. He needs time to build up trust with people. Once he trusts you, he is loyal and protective of you. He will need training and guidance with boundaries. He was originally food aggressive, but that has improved with consistency.
