Sassy is an expressive and sweet Shepherd around 3 years of age. Sassy was surrendered to the shelter after being run over and her previous owners did not want to pay for treatment. Sassy was suffering from a shattered hip and two fractures along her spine. She has been on crate rest since November and was recently cleared for adoption after her follow up Xrays showed her hip had melded back together along with the spinal fractures. Sassy has a bunny hop gait and is still regaining muscle control over her back left leg but is otherwise unaffected by her previous injuries. Sassy is sweet and adoring of people. She lives with a young child in a very active household so she has met lots of people. She is a bit of a saint in the house but loves to rip and run in the yard. Sassy has started getting mouthy as she gets more playful and is really quite the character. She does well with everyone she meets. Sassy walks with other dogs including a beagle and multiple Shepherds without issue. As she settled in she got a bit rougher on the Beagle and may not be best suited to a home with smaller critters. She is surprisingly playful and enjoys roughhousing. Sassy is a sweet soul who is going to make an amazing companion to anyone willing to have a little patience as she continues to regain control of that back leg. She may require extra care as she ages but right now all Sassy knows is fun and adventures.
