Sable is a sweet and goofy young Shepherd around a year of age. Sable was surrendered to the shelter due to the owner no longer being able to care for him however that is all of the information we have regarding his life prior to the shelter. Sable has some serious fear about being handled around his collar so we suspect that he either wasn't handled at all or was badly mishandled in this area. Sable is a rambunctious and outgoing puppy. Although he is a big guy and growing up no one told him so he has a personality that is extremely puppy like. Jumping is a big issue for him but at least he is friendly when meeting new people. He doesn't have any issues around children however since he can be overwhelming and ill-behaved introductions need to be done carefully. Until he has some proper training we would not suggest him for a home with small children since he is prone to knock them over on accident. Sable believes he is a lap dog regardless of size and has a very warm personality. Sable does great with the other dogs from a beagle (24 lbs) to other shepherds he has no issues getting along. He is very puppy-like in this area as well with not a lot of idea how to be social. He is learning quickly though and is a very smart boy. He has not been tested with cats however can be upon request. Sable is seeking an active home with the willingness to dedicate time towards training. He is going to make an amazing companion with a little bit of TLC.
