About Titus

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
Titus is a stunning young Shepherd who was severely neglected. Having just turned 2 years of age Titus has not been given the best start at life. Kept in an apartment with minimal care Titus was extremely underweight when surrendered to the shelter and is still working towards a healthy weight. Titus is a very self confident dog who does well when meeting new people but isn't very personable. He has a very dutiful demeanor geared towards having a job or task and not so much towards bonding with a person. He isn't totally standoffish though and does have a wonderful personality hiding behind his mask. Titus is a very intense dog though and is definitely a working dog at heart. Due to his level of drive and poor training we would not suggest him for a home with children under 10 years of age at this moment. Titus doesn't care much for other dogs aside from the one he grew up with however he coexists pretty well. He enjoys toys of all sorts and would rather spend his playtime running around with the latest and greatest toy. Titus has shown signs of beginning training but also of poor quality training as well. He has a relatively high drive paired with a dominant attitude and poor socialization. This can make him standoffish at times and a downright pain at others. In the end Titus has a willingness to please and is a quick study. Titus would make a wonderful addition to a household with knowledge of working shepherds and dedication to providing constructive outlets to a dog of this caliber. He would likely excel at most dog sports although he lacks the proper foundation for any intense working lines. First and foremost Titus will require a home dedicated to continuing to improve his health both physically and mentally. Titus is going to require consistent training, boundaries, and socialization along with a high level of exercise.
