Marvin is the kind of dog that makes us really wish dogs could talk because you know he would have some stories to tell. Estimated around 10 years of age Marvin was a stray who arrived at Louisville Metro Animal Services in very poor condition. Although Marvin has clearly lived a life of neglect he doesn't let that get him down. This sweet soul has a very dignified and regal manner to himself despite his obviously checkered past. Marvin is understandably nervous around new people. He behaves like he simply isn't sure what is expected of him which is understandable given his condition. Once he warms up Marvin can be quite the sweet soul and is very friendly. He is likely used to being shoo'ed away and is still trying to figure out if he is welcome or not. Loving attention seems like a very new thing to him. Marvin has been walking with a mixed group of other dogs ranging from a 5 month old puppy all the way up to a senior. At first Marvin was a bit standoffish with the other dogs and seemed a bit nervous. Again this behavior is pretty understandable since he likely hasn't had the best experiences. He has settled into a routine very easily though and has done really well with the other dogs. He has tolerated the puppy like a champ and gets along really well with the others. Marvin has not been introduced to cats. Marvin is in poor condition physically due to neglect. He is extremely skinny and has hair loss due to fleas. He doesn't let this slow him down though and Marvin is otherwise remarkably healthy. Marvin is going to need extra support through food, supplements, and skin care as he journeys back to a fully healthy dog. Marvin likes to pass his time on a dog bed and is a very easy going soul. Despite the fact that he was clearly on his own for a while Marvin is actually very clean in his crate and inside the house. This old soul is looking for a family to show him love through his golden years.
