Kane is a handsome and stoic guy estimated around 3 years of age. Kane was a stray in the Louisville Metro and has the fly bitten ears to document having spent a long time outdoors. Unfortunately we do not know anything about his life prior to the shelter so all of our information is based off of getting to know him. Kane has mixed reviews on his personality right now. He had a very rough neuter the day we picked him up from the shelter so grumpy is mild when describing his mood. Kane didn't make any friends with the vet staff over his refusal to be restrained but allowed us to walk him out of the shelter just fine. As of writing this we have had Kane for about 10 days and he is slowly coming out of his shell. He has been friendly meeting new people if not a bit aloof. He has met some kids 4 years old and up with no issues. Kane is just a very stoic guy and he isn't into the sweet cuddly stuff. He is also a talker but not in a cute way - he will grumble and growl at certain things but has not offered to bite. Although the vet aged him at 3 years old Kane can best be described as a grumpy old man who likes to complain about things. Kane cannot figure the other dos out at all. He doesn't offer any aggression however he thinks he wants to assert himself as a dominate male. I say thinks because he doesn't seem to know how to do this - it is mildly entertaining. He has been getting along well with a group of rowdy young dogs but is often faded to the sidelines. He has tried to get into the mix of things once or twice but doesn't know how to play so he quickly bows out. Kane is just a socially awkward grump looking for someone who sees the potential in cracking his personality shell to find the devoted family dog underneath.
