Shiloh is a handsome boy who is estimated around 3 - 4 years of age. Shiloh was completely feral when he arrived with Tier Haven from Hazard, Kentucky. He had not been handled prior to that time and we are unaware of the circumstances surrounding his first few months. Despite being in various foster homes over his years with us Shiloh remains an aloof guy who prefers life on his own terms.
Shiloh is still learning how to trust new people and situations. Shiloh does really well with people from a distance of about 5-7 feet and will linger on the outskirts of interactions but doesn't know what to do when the attention is turned to him. Shiloh will come up and nudge from behind seeking attention but does best when there isn't a big fuss made about it. He has a desire to be around people but doesn't know how to make new friends. Shiloh has learned how to better navigate new situations with each of his foster homes and ultimately does well meeting new people in his foster homes. He has a very fun and playful personality when he is comfortable in a home and is a very well mannered boy. He prefers having a crate as a safe zone but is well behaved loose in the house as well. Shiloh has been around children over 7 years of age semi-regularly and does okay with calmer, more mature children. He gets overwhelmed easily with younger, rambunctious children and would prefer a home with a more settled atmosphere.
Shiloh does great with other dogs and really relies on them for social cues. Shiloh was originally found running with another dog and has always been around other dogs in his time with us. Shiloh loves to romp and run with other dogs and has a very comedic personality in the play yard. Shiloh has been around dogs of all ages and does a great job respecting boundaries the other dogs set and navigating new personalities. Shiloh has been around dogs 15 lbs and up with no concerns. Shiloh has lived with cats off and on throughout his life and generally does well. He will try to play with the cats but is respectful when they tell him to go away. Shiloh would do well adjusting into a new home with other dogs, or cats, that can help him navigate his new environment.
Shiloh is looking for a home with the patience and understanding to help guide his transition into a new family and new adventures. If you have a place in your heart and home for this sweet young boy please email tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application.
