Ranger is a show-stopping sable german shepherd who at 3 years of age found his life turned upside down. Ranger was surrendered to a high kill shelter because his family "had too many kids & he knocks them over" Ranger is an amazing dog and is very friendly. He has been taught to "hug" which is likely what got him in trouble in his previous home. Ranger absolutely adores children and will stay right next to the 4 year old in his foster home. He enjoys all people really but is a bit aloof right now while he figures out who is "his" person. Like most shepherds he bonds very closely and values himself as a protector of "his family" so he is struggling to figure out where he fits in right now. Ranger is generally friendly with the other dogs but isn't overly playful. He doesn't seem to have any experience with other dogs and is unsure what to do. The only issue Ranger has had is not wanting to let other dogs near the person petting him. He has been corrected for this behavior and is learning quickly but his new home will need to be aware that he wants to be very protective. Ranger is a more stoic male generally but he is slowly coming out of his shell. Ranger is searching for a family who will give him a job - preferably official cuddler - and help him learn some basic manners.
