Jaeger is a beautiful boy estimated between 2-3 years old who was a stray in a rural part of Kentucky. Unfortunately we do not have any information on his past however we can make some guesses based upon his behavior and condition. Jaeger loves to jump up on people and is a 'mouthy' dog which is behavior typical of a dog who is lived on a chain. Also his teeth have wear that is typically seen in dogs who have chewed on chain or rocks in the past. He is a wonderfully friendly dog despite our suspicions that he has been chained outside this whole life. Jaeger absolutely adores people. Unfortunately, he has zero manners so his expression of love isn't the most appropriate. He typically jumps on people when he first meets them which is a habit we have been work to correct. Also, we he gets very hyped up or nervous he will simply turn and put a hand or arm in his mouth. He is very gentle about this and it seems to be a coping behavior he has developed. He doesn't nip or bite however we are still working to replace this behavior with more appropriate behavior. He is very affectionate and seems to love people. He has been introduced to a child around 4 years old. He was his typical jumping, friendly self which unfortunately means he could accidently knock a child down. He would need supervision around children until his manners are improved however he seems to be fine with them overall. Jaeger is currently being fostered with other german shepherds and doing well. He has absolutely no idea how to play with the other dogs. He has gotten in trouble for being mouthy with the other dogs but luckily he has some good doggy-etiquette guides. He is still trying to figure everything out but we are hopefully that once he learns play-yard manners he will be a great social dog. He has also been introduced to an adult cat and he was terrified of her. When the cat would move around he would watch her however he did not show any inclination to chase her or be aggressive. We would suggest he be introduced to any new cats slowly and with strict boundaries however he does have the potential to be perfectly fine living with a cat. Overall, Jaeger is a beautiful diamond in the rough. He has an amazing personality that makes you fall in love immediately. He very much wants to be a people pleaser and is a quick learner.
