Alaric is an amazing young shepherd who was listed as 4 years old by the shelter but is likely around 2 years of ago. He was a stray in Louisville and unfortunately we do not know any of his history. It is obvious Alaric has been on his own for a good amount of time - he is extremely skinny, his ears are missing hair from fly bites, and he did not respond well to the shelter. Alaric was very scared at the shelter and very shy but never aggressive. As he has gotten comfortable with his foster home he is becoming more and more friendly every day. He is a very sweet boy and loves to cuddle and get attention from people. He is also learning how to play with other dogs but hasn't got the hang of it just yet. Alaric is obviously a very lost dog trying to navigate a scary world on his own left him with no idea of his role. He doesn't understand the basic social manners that a well raised dog would but he tries very hard. Alaric has been around children and did really well but he has not been around cats. Alaric will need a family that is patient and willing to give him the TLC to gain his health back while training and socializing him to become a wonderful member of the family.
