Oso is a stunning long haired shepherd around 12 months (1 year) of age who is actively searching for a loving family to call his own. Oso originally came to Tier Haven has a rambunctious 5 month old when his original owner had a family emergency causing her to move suddenly. Named Malachi at the time he was a well socialized and loving young boy. Unfortunately his adoptive family did not follow through with his socializing and Oso wasn't given the guidance he needed when he hit 9 months and became insecure and unsure of his job. When family circumstances resulted in him being allowed to make up his own rules with a dog door and underground fence Oso became overly protective of the property. When Oso was returned to us he had very little self confidence and didn't know what his role was inside a family. Oso has since blossomed into a well-adjust and wonderful young shepherd. Oso has been around multiple dogs his whole life and has always done well with other dogs. He is a very friendly boy and can be extremely playful with other dogs. He has been around small dogs in his previous home but has not been fostered with small dogs. He has also been around children (age 2 and up) his whole life and absolutely adores children. Oso is a typical young shepherd who needs guidance and boundaries to know how to behave in a home. He has already shown that he will become overly protective when left to his own devices so he needs a home with shepherd experience and the time to continue working and socializing him. Ideally Oso would make a great companion for an active family who could provide him with plenty of exercise, socialization, and guidance.
