Tabitha is a very sweet girl estimated around 3 years of age. Tabitha originally had her life up-ended when her owners surrendered her to a rural shelter with no explanation. Tabitha was very shell shocked and timid at that time. She was in an adoptive home for the last 3 months however was unfortunately returned to our care when their schedules changed and they were no longer able to care for her. Tabitha has been denied love and affection from people most of her life. It breaks our hearts because she is a very sweet and friendly girl. Tabitha is shy when meeting new people but if you go slow she warms up well. Once she warms up to you Tabitha attaches herself to the back of your legs like a perfect shadow. She is around a young kid in her foster home and does pretty well. If she is ever nervous she will remove herself from the situation and go lay in another room. She is just now figuring out how to seek attention from people and is totally comfortable doing so yet. Tabitha is fostered with other dogs and does great. She has taken it upon herself to teach some of the more serious dogs how to be playful and is a hoot! She typically keeps to herself or chews a bone in the yard. If she is feeling spunky she will start romping with the other dogs though. She is a generally laid back girl. Tabitha did test positive for heartworm in July 2015 and has been receiving 'slow kill' monthly treatment since then. Tabitha will need to continue receiving monthly treatment/preventative in her adoptive home. Tabitha is a sweet girl who is seeking a loving home that will give her love and value her as a family member.
