Bandit is a wonderfully energetic young boy estimated around a year and a half old. Bandits owner surrendered him because he was too energetic and had started to get mouthy while roughhousing. They represented that Bandit was purchased as a german shepherd puppy however we feel like Bandit likely has cattle dog in him. Not only does he have the stunning markings of a cattle dog but he has the working personality that is typical of the breed. Bandit does amazing with other dogs and loves to romp, run, and roughhouse with anyone willing to keep up with him. He is a very athletic dog so when he plays it can be anything from running lead in a game of chase to close up roughhousing where he can pretzel his body to trip the other dog. Bandit has been shy with new people in his foster home however at adoption events does wonderful with people and children alike. His biggest habit is jumping up and he likes to bounce right in front of people trying to look them in the eye and get attention. He is learning slowly but surely to not jump on new people. Also Bandit does like to roughhouse with people and can get mouthy when doing so. He doesn't mean to do it in an aggressive way and when corrected he will stop but due to lack of boundaries his first year this is a lingering habit. Bandit knows how to sit, down, and crawl for treats and isn't picky about who is giving the commands or the treats. He is also very gentle when taking his treats or food from your hand. Above all Bandit loves to play with toys - anything from tennis balls to tug toys to catching the Frisbee. He is a very active boy and throwing toys is the best way to let loose some of that spare energy. Overall, Bandit is an awesome and fun dog who would make a wonderful companion for agility, disc dog, or any other engaging dog sport. He is searching for a family that understands his energy needs and is willing to both cuddle on the couch and throw the ball for hours.
