Pip is a gorgeous young german shepherd mix estimated to be right under a year old. Pip is a very energetic young boy which is very true to his breed characteristics. Although Pip was a stray in Metro Louisville he does not show any signs of fear or abuse from his early life. The only lingering characteristic of his time of the streets is a lack of training and habit of jumping. Pip does wonderful meeting new people though and if anything can be a tad too excited to meet people. Pip adores children and when he really tries he can control his energy enough to get love and attention from the toddlers. He already knows how to sit, down, and crawl for treats and loves to show off those moves for anyone who will watch. He is very quick to learn and is motivated by both food and toys. Pip loves to play with toys – tennis balls, tug toys, and Frisbees are all entertaining in his world. He is extremely playful with other dogs and likes to romp and run with the other young dogs in his foster home. He isn’t a submissive boy but he isn’t dominate either – in fact he would just rather play then bother with those roles. He bounces through meeting new dogs with a happy-go-lucky-please-play-with-me attitude. Pip has been tested around adult cats and was far more interested in getting attention from the people then bothering the cats. We are unsure how he would do around young and active cats but he is young and easily taught that if someone wanted to take the time to train him he would learn quickly to be fine with cats. Pip would be a great agility dog and would excel in obedience classes as well. He is searching for a forever home to love on him, provide him guidance as he grows up, and give him an outlet for his energy.
