Artemis, or Artie, is a handsome boy aged somewhere between 3 to 5 years of age. Artie came to us after a small county shelter closed down and all we know is that his owner surrendered him there. While we don’t know why Artie found himself in the shelter we know he is the bestest of boys and is ready for a home of his own.

Artemis adores making friends and is a very sociable boy with everyone. He is quick to ask for love and pets from everyone who seems willing to give him some attention including strangers at the pet store and children. Artemis has done well meeting new people in his foster home and will even share his favorite spot on the couch if asked nicely. Artie is very good in the house and is a pretty solid couch dweller most of the time. He enjoys going for walks and short hikes as he continues to get in shape he is getting more energetic and playful. Artie enjoys being right in the middle of things and is always down for an adventure.

Artie meets new dogs quietly and currently lives with multiple other dogs including a young cattle dog mix and adult Shepherds.Artie wasn't interested in playing at first but is starting to come around to the idea with some coaxing from the younger dogs. He will occasionally participate in tug games if the toys are enticing enough and has considered the chase games the puppies play but doesn't get the appeal. Artie generally hangs out with the people in the yard or finds a good spot to bask in the sun while the other dogs play. Artie does live with a cat who mostly avoids the dogs so he hasn't had tons of direct interaction but always done well with her. They have no issue pretending the other doesn’t exist while they are both on the couch though and given proper introductions he should do just fine in a home with cats.
