Allie is a stunning young female Shepherd estimated around 10 months of age. Allie was a stray around the Holidays and we do not know her history prior to arriving at the shelter.

Allie is a very energetic, friendly, and loving young girl who has a very enthusiastic approach to life. Allie has little concept of manners but makes up for it with her love and kisses. Allie loves making new friends and is very social with new people wanting to get all the pets and attention she can convince them to give. She has done wonderful with different volunteers and is overall a very loving girl. She enjoys cuddling after a long romp session or a run - she is a tentatively okay jogging partner if by jogging you really mean sprinting. Allie has energy to spare as most young Shepherds do and requires plenty of exercise time throughout the day to keep her from being bored. Allie has not been around any children at this time but would likely be just a good with young humans as she is with adults. We would not recommend her for a home with small children (under 4 or 5) or kids that are not used to large, energetic dogs as she doesn't yet have manners or boundaries and can easily be overwhelming.

Allie is learning to play with the other dogs in her foster home and doing a good job coming out of her shell. Allie was terrified of other dogs when she arrived and would hide while yelping if they tried to sniff her. She can now romp in the yard one on one but gets overwhelmed by the largest of her foster siblings - about 80 lbs - and will panic. She can be very vocal meeting new dogs as she barks and tries to hide from them. She will require dedicated ongoing structured socialization with other dogs to help her continue to overcome this as she is at a pivotal age for setting up her adult success. Allie currently lives with a cat that she ignores 80% of the time and tries to play with 20% of the time. She should do fine in a home with a cat long term given proper introductions and ongoing guidance on proper behavior with the cat.

Allie is a loving, smart, and fun young Shepherd that is looking for a family who will give her all the pets, help her learn how to make new dog friends, and join her on her runs.
