Joe is a handsome young Belgian Malinois estimated around 2.5 years of age. Joe was a stray who arrived at the shelter with an injured eye. We do not know his history or background prior to this. Joe did have surgery to remove the eye and has recovered without missing a beat. Joe adores people and loves making new friends. His enthusiasm can be a bit much for people as true to his Malinois breed Joe does everything with lots of exclamation marks. Joe likes to rough house with his people and can be a jumper when the energy is high. However he does know when to settle down and keep his feet on the ground as well. Joe is an overall well mannered boy and seems to have some basic obedience training. Joe's favorite pastime is chasing water buckets, bowls, and anything that clangs. Joe is an active and energetic boy that requires appropriate outlets for this energy. Joe has been around children 8 years and up and things they are great fun - especially if they have bikes... Joe is fostered with other dogs and does well with them in his own Malinois way. He is an intense player and not every dog appreciates such a rough and tumble style. Those that do have found Joe to be great fun and he is happy to oblige. Joe would be okay as an only dog or with a very play savvy medium-large dog. Joe is NOT cat friendly and likely not good with small dogs. Joe is an awesome boy that is looking for an active home that'll include him in the adventures.
