Ash is a cute young female Shepherd estimated around 2 years of age. Ash was a stray therefore we have no history or background prior to her arrival at the shelter. Ash is a total sweetheart that is trying to figure out all the new humans in her life. She has been social and friendly with everyone she has met so far but will occasionally hang back to check things out first. Ash really wants to be a lap dog and seems to be looking for an emotional support human - she is unsure what she is supposed to do and really looks to people for guidance and confidence. Ash is just a little hand-shy around her collar and prefers that new people take it slow when handling her collar. Ash has not been around children at this time. Ash fosters with other large dogs and is slowly figuring out how to play. She has done well meeting new dogs and being generally friendly but has no idea what to do when they try to play with her. She is appropriate in setting boundaries when they get too rambunctious with her and we hope with time she will come out of her shell more. Ash has not been around any dogs under 40 lbs at this time. Ash is fostered with cats but currently refuses to acknowledge their existence making it hard to accurately tell if she is truly cat friendly. Ash is looking for an active, patient home that will give her the love and guidance she needs to flourish.
