Derp is a handsome young male German Shepherd who is estimated around 1.5 years of age. Derp was found as a stray therefore we do not know his history or background prior to arriving at the shelter. 

Derp is a large, goofy boy who is trying to figure out his role in the world. He has enjoyed making new human friends in his foster home although he can sometimes be vocal when meeting new people. He loves to romp and roughhouse so he is having to learn what appropriate play looks like with humans - he has no concept of his size or personal space. Derp is a playful, energetic boy who is going to need an appropriate outlet for his very puppy-like energy. When he is properly exercised he calms down and is a cuddly boy who enjoys being close to the people. He has not been around any children at this time and due to his energy level we would not recommend him for a home with children at this time. 

Derp does well with the other large dogs in his foster home and is quickly learning to navigate play groups. He does tend to be a pushy, inappropriate guy at first and is having to learn that not every dog appreciates his direct play style. He is learning though and is respectful of the boundaries other dogs set for him. Derp does have a tendency to resource guard toys and bones from the other dogs (not an issue towards people) so he is not allowed to have these items outside of his crate right now. Derp has not been around small dogs or cats at this time.
