About Ding

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
  • Housetrained: Yes
Ding is a handsome male German Shepherd that was originally estimated around 3 years of age but is suspected to be a bit younger. He was found as a stray so we unfortunately do not know his history, background, or exact age.      Ding is a very sweet boy that tends to be a bit aloof when meeting new people. He isn't standoffish but doesn't rush to make new friends either. He is an athletic boy but isn't the 'bouncy', constantly on the go sort. He enjoys just being near the people and is happy to jump in through an open window if that is what it takes to not let the humans out of sight... Ding enjoys being pet and cuddled as he believes strongly in being a lap dog. He loves to chase balls but is still working on the return part of fetch - keep away is more his current style. Ding has been around children 7+ years of age and done great with them.     Ding has done well with the other Shepherds in his foster home but is still figuring out the concept of play yet. He navigates play groups well but can go between avoiding the other dogs to being pushy about playing. He meets new dogs well and is slowly figuring out the appropriate way to ask a new dog to play. He has not been around small dogs at this time and is not considered cat friendly.   Ding is heartworm positive and will need to continue receiving treatment in his adoptive home. He is currently at the beginning of what is commonly called 'slow kill' treatment and we are happy to discuss treatment options with potential adopters.    Ding is a kind-hearted boy who is searching for a family that will give him the love, guidance, and care that he is so deserving of.
