Casper is a handsome young Belgian Malinois estimated around 2 years of age. Casper was a stray therefore we do not know his history or background prior to arrival at the shelter.    Casper is a friendly, bouncy boy that has done well meeting new people. True to his breed Casper has energy to burn and tends to be a very upbeat, active boy who is always ready to get into something. He is a social boy and wants to constantly be part of the action - if there is none he is happy to help create something to do. Casper  requires both physical and mental exercise and would thrive in a sport dog home. Casper is eager to please and wicked smart which is wonderful when properly channeled; however, he could just as easily become destructive if his exercise needs aren't met. Belgian Malinois are a working breed and Casper is no exception - he will need a home well researched in the needs of a Malinois and committed to his training, exercise, and antics. Casper has done well with children 10 years and up; he would not be recommended for a home with young children simply due to his size and energy level.    Casper is currently living with other large dogs and doing okay however he is not the most socially adept guy. Casper has high drive and does not share easily which require close supervision in any play setting that may result in competition for toys, treats, or attention. Casper can, and does, get along with other dogs and is learning how to play under the watchful eye of his foster family. He is not a 'dog park dog' though or one who is going to quickly and seamlessly integrate into new dog groups. Casper can likely get there through training and socialization but this is definitely an area that he will need continued guidance in. Casper would also happily be your main guy though and would do well as an only dog. Casper is NOT cat friendly and has NOT been around small dogs. Casper is a high drive dog and would not be safe for a home with small animals.    Casper is an awesome boy who is a blast to work with and play with for those who enjoy the Malinois personality. He is searching for a home that will return his intense love and loyalty.
