Opal is a sweet female Shepherd estimated around 4 years of age. Opal was a stray so we do not know her history prior to arrival at the shelter. She did arrive with a leg injury that ultimately led to the loss of her hind leg. 

Opal is a kind hearted girl who loves to be near the people and part of the action. She doesn't let her tripod status slow her down and enjoys helping around the yard and going on walks. Opal does well meeting new people and while she isn't always outgoing she is well mannered. Opal is still pretty active and when bored has a bad habit of chasing her own tail - she is the sort who needs mental stimulation even on lazy days. Opal has been living with a 10 year old child she adores but she has not been around any younger children.

Opal does well with the other dogs in her foster home and is generally easy going meeting new dogs. She does enjoy playing and romping with the other dogs but also enjoys hiding away with a bone to chew. Opal would do well in a home with other dogs or as an only child. Opal has been around dogs 30 lbs and up but has not been around small dogs. Opal has not been cat tested at this time.
