Roxie is a beautiful Sable German Shepherd estimated around 1.5 - 2 years of age. Roxie was found as a stray in June and surprised her foster with puppies in the middle of the night. We don't know her history or background prior to landing in the shelter skinny and pregnant. Now that she is done raising her pups Roxie is ready for a home of her own.
Roxie is a super sweet, social girl and didn't let the stress of her summer get her down. Roxie enjoys meeting new people and has been a wonderfully well behaved girl. Roxie has been slowly coming out of her shell and getting more playful now that she isn't in Mom Mode. She isn't entirely sure what to do with toys yet but she loves rough housing with people and being part of anything that is going on. Roxie can be a bit mouthy and when she wants attention will gently grab your hand. This is behavior that will need ongoing work to redirect and is her biggest vice. Roxie is a pretty active girl and enjoys going on hikes and other adventures. Roxie lives with an 11 year old child that she adores and would likely do well in a home with children.
Roxie does great with the other medium and large dogs in her foster home. She doesn't know how to play but they've been trying their best to teach her and she navigates play groups well. She has done well meeting new dogs both in her foster home and while out and about. She is more people oriented than dog oriented but would do well in either a multi-dog home or as an only dog. Roxie is currently living in a foster home with cats and doing well with them. She can be a bit nosey about what the cats are doing if the energy is up or the cats are being little menaces but has been great with them overall.
Roxie is a kind-hearted girl that is looking for a family that will give her the love and TLC she needs to thrive. If you're the home for Roxie email us at tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit Tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for FAQs
