Bode is a stunning 2 year old male German Shepherd with a beautiful liver sable coat color. Bode was a stray found with an embedded collar and we do not know his history prior to arrival at the shelter. Despite his current condition pointing towards less than stellar care Bode is still a fun-loving boy who is looking forward to a fur-ever home.
Bode is a big puppy at heart and has the energy and antics to match it. Bode is extremely friendly and social but a bit on the rowdy side wanting to jump on new people and make sure they know how much he loves them. He is definitely going to need guidance and an outlet for all that energy. Once he calms down Bode enjoys butt scratches and being an oversized lap dog. Bode LOVES the few kids he has met and it is one of the few times he doesn't jump to get attention. He tends to melt at their feet instead and is an absolute ham for any attention the kids give him.
Bode loves the other dogs and is quickly learning his social manners. He is on the rougher side of play styles wanting to jump, paw, and romp with every dog he meets. He has done well respecting the boundaries of the dogs that don't want to play with him though and is navigating playgroups well. Bode would love to be in a home with other young, active dogs. Bode has tentatively done okay during cat testing. He tends to be zealous which the cats dislike but he also tends to avoid acknowledging the cats existences once they get hissy with him. He would definitely need supervision and training but has the potential to adjust to living with cats. Bode has NOT been tested with small dogs at this time.
Bode is a big love who is looking for an active and patient home to give him the guidance and love he needs. If you're the home for Bode email us at Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit Tierhaven.resceugroups.org for FAQs
