Bode is a stunning 2 year old male German Shepherd with a beautiful liver sable coat color. Bode was a stray found with an embedded collar and we do not know his history prior to arrival at the shelter. Despite his condition pointing towards less than stellar care Bode is still a fun-loving boy who is looking forward to a family of his own

Bode is a beach party personified - he is a big puppy at heart with the energy and antics to keep any party rolling. You know that one person that seems to know everyone and somehow ended up in a strangers wedding? That would be Bode as a human. Although with his current love of mud and jumping on his new friends he is more likely to be a wedding crasher... Despite his love of adventure Bode is actually a pretty chill guy to share a home with. He is crate trained and generally well mannered in the house. He firmly believes there is no size limit to a lap dog and that belly rubs cure all. He appreciates an active lifestyle but doesn't mind the occasional chill day; especially, if there are chew toys involved. Bode has met a handful of kids 8 years and up and he adores them. He is a big ole' melty puddle of love when he gets to meet kids. He has not lived with any kids while with us but would likely do great in a home with older kids that are comfortable with large dogs.

Bode loves other dogs but is still fine tuning his social manners. He is on the rougher side of play styles and doesn't always want to share his toys in the house. He has been living with other large dogs though and loves getting to romp and run and roughhouse. He is a bit forward when meeting new dogs but is learning quickly that not everyone appreciates his zest for life. Bode has a complicated relationship with the cats but could likely adjust to a home with cats given the proper guidance. Bode has lived with cats in one of his foster homes and did wonderful with 3 of the 4 cats in the home. He interacted with them politely, respected their space, and was generally well mannered with them. However, the youngest cat believes it is a dog and Bode has no problem trying to play with it as an equal. Which is a bit problematic when you have a 65 lb size difference. Bode doesn't seem to know how to handicap himself for smaller animals and would definitely need work around cats and/or small dogs.

Bode is a big love who is looking for an active and patient home to give him the guidance and love he needs. If you're the home for Bode email us at Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application or visit Tierhaven.resceugroups.org for FAQs
