Wagner is a unique boy estimated around 1.5 years of age. Wagner came to us from Hazard, KY where he was a stray therefore we do not know anything about his history. Being a predominately German Shepherd rescue Wagner is our odd-ball out and very much enjoys himself. Wagner is a sweet boy when he warms up to people and enjoys cuddling, getting scratches, and simply hanging out. Wagner has come out of his shell with his foster family and shown himself to be a goofy little gremlin. Wagner does well for grooming - bath, blow dry, nail clippings - although he does look pretty fun covered in suds and claims it's an affront to his dignity. When meeting new people Wagner hangs to the back as he isn't sure if he can trust everyone just yet. A couple minutes and treats later Wagner will warm up and start to relax. He clearly hasn't been exposed to much but is doing his best to learn and grow. Wagner isn't sure exactly what he is supposed to do surrounded by large Shepherd's in his foster home. He can get defensive with the larger dogs but has also learned how to navigate a play group to stay in the company of medium sized dogs such as himself. He has been learning to play with the assistance of a couple of really great Shepherd mixes but is still figuring it out. Wagner meets other dogs well and is not reactive when in public. Wagner has not been tested with cats but can be upon request. Wagner is just a little mutt love in a Shepherd world and is searching for a family that values his uniqueness.
