Koda is a stunning 5 year old long haired shepherd who found himself at a shelter because he tested positive for heartworm and his owners surrendered him. The previous owners did not give any information Koda’s history so unfortunately we do not know much of his backstory. Koda was extremely matted upon arrival at the shelter although part of his body had been shaved. He has since seen a groomer – he did extremely well being brushed out – and is working on recovering his beautiful coat. Koda is an extremely friendly and talkative shepherd. He has his fair-share of nervous energy and will whine and talk in high energy situations or new situations. Koda has done very well with his fellow foster dogs who are all other shepherds but doesn’t seem to play much with the other dogs. Koda has started the “slow kill” treatment for heartworm and will need continuing monthly treatment in his fur-ever home. Koda is a beautiful and sweet boy who is searching for a family to show him the brighter side of life.
