Lulu is a beauty girl estimated around 3-4 years of ago. Originally found after being dumped in a park we unfortunately do not have an exact age on Lulu but she agrees that you should never ask a lady their age.
Lulu originally came to us as a very timid girl after being dumped at a park. She was fearful of most people and was very slow to trust. Lulu found a wonderful home with a woman who was able to work with her through these issues. Unfortunately life circumstance caused Lulu to be returned to us and she is now searching for a new home.
Lulu hasn't completely overcome her fears and is still cautious when she meets new people. She isn't aggressive however she prefers to approach new people on her terms and make sure they are safe before being affectionate. Once you have gained her trust you couldn't ask for a more loyal and loving dog. Lulu strongly values herself as a 'protector' and bonds very closely with her person or family. She has learned how to process through situations like having friends in the house but she is not the type of dog who will greet everyone with a kiss - they must pass inspection first. Lulu has been around children however due to her lingering fears we feel like she would do best in a home with children 10 years or older. Occasionally (rarely) something will trigger Lulu and she will cower in fear or go hide. When this happens she doesn't like having people in her space so Lulu will need a home that understands her previous and lingering trauma.
Lulu has lived with other dogs for the whole time we have known her. Originally in foster care, another dog in her home, and now in foster care again. She has not had any issues with the other dogs although she does tend to be a more dominate and no nonsense girl. If another dog really tries they can sometimes entice her to play however typically Lulu asks as the 'queen' and rules over the other dogs. She has been tested with cats and simply has too much prey drive to be trustworthy with cats. For this reason we also do not feel like she would do well with small dogs. She is currently fostered with a dog about 35 lbs however we are not confident about anything below this.
Lulu is a pretty girl with a lot of love to offer anyone willing to understand the trauma she is still working to overcome. She is well-mannered and is just waiting for the right home to give her love and devotion to.
