Garbanzo is a handsome male Belgian Malinois estimated around 3 years of age. Garbanzo came to us from a rural Kentucky shelter and we do not know his history or background.   Garbanzo is a big, energetic Malinois that is very eager to please and wants to constantly be near people. Garbanzo had some inappropriate mouthy behavior when he first arrived that he has made great progress on and rarely displays anymore. Garbanzo has been able to meet new people calmly and is always happy to sit for treats. Food is a strong motivator for him! He has a big heart and is looking for a bond. Garbanzo would be a great candidate for various dog sport hobbies and advanced obedience. He can be stubborn at times when learning new things but once he focuses he is a smart, willing boy. Garbanzo has not been around children and is not currently recommend for a home with kids due to his size.   Garbanzo has done well with other medium and large dogs in his foster home. Garbanzo tends to keep to himself or stay near the humans rather than interact with the other dogs. He will play occasionally but is not a constant romper. . Garbanzo would likely do okay in a home with other mature dogs but is not the sort to go be best friends immediately with another dog. Garbanzo is NOT cat friendly and likely wouldn't do well with smaller dogs. Garbanzo spent 10 days with a trainer recently polishing up his manners. He did great in her home and was described as a 'big personality in a big body'. Garbanzo is an active young Malinois who is looking for a home that understands his breeds need for exercise, training, and a sense of humor at their quirks.
