Patty is a handsome 5 month old Dutch Shepherd x German Shepherd pup. Patty is part of a litter found abandoned in a laundry basket right Christmas and unfortunately we know nothing of his parents.
Patty is a rambunctious, energetic pup who loves toys, treats, and using the other puppies as chew toys. Patty tends to be pretty outgoing and brave although he is currently going through a bit of a shy period right now. He is quick to overcome though and is eager to please. Patty is a smart boy and is going to thrive in a home that can give him the socialization and stimulation an active pup needs.
Patty has been raised with other dogs and does a pretty good job navigating play groups. He can be a bit of a bully with the other puppies and is a rough and tumble sort of player. However, he does well respecting the older dogs who don't want to play and is content to hide away with a toy when he doesn't have anyone to wrestle with. He is still figuring out how he is supposed to make new friends out and about when confined by a darn leash but he is determined to figure it out one day. Patty has been raised around cats but does tend to be rougher with them then we'd like and the cats mostly avoid him. He could likely be trained to co-exist with cats but with his prey drive it will definitely take ongoing work.
Patty is a medium drive pup and will need a home that understand raising working breed dogs. He will need guidance and socialization to ensure he grows into a good canine citizen. If you're the home for Patty email us at Tierhavenrescue@gmail.com or visit Tierhaven.rescuegroups.org for FAQs
